Artur Szlosarek was born in Krakow, Poland, in May 1968.

A poet, essayist and translator, sometimes. Member of the Polish PEN Club.

He studied Polish literature at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland, and comparative literature at the University of Bonn, Germany.

He received the Koscielski Foundation Prize (1993), and was also recipient of grants from Academy of Arts in Berlin, Robert Bosch Foundation in Germany, and the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage in Poland.

Author of several collections of poetry (most recently: Truancy in Purgatory, 2022) and some translations from work by Paul Celan, Franz Kafka, Walter Benjamin and G. Ch. Lichtenberg.

Based in Berlin and Krakow.
